The location made it easy to explore Haboro on foot, with the Haboro Rose Garden, Haboro Seabird Museum, and local restaurants nearby. Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza also works as a roadside station, which is handy for travelers. I especially liked the restaurant's amaebi dishes, and the onsen was a peaceful way to unwind after sightseeing. Prices are affordable for much of the year, so the quality feels like good value. They can rise during peak season, when visitors head for Teuri or Yagishiri Islands. Even then, the location and amenities keep this a popular choice.

The breakfast was great, and the bright, spacious tatami room was really clean. It came with a balcony, too. The outdoor onsen has brown water and is awesome. I think paying in person works out much cheaper than booking online.

The onsen was one of the better ones I've tried, with plenty of space and good facilities: a sauna, cold bath, plus indoor and outdoor hot baths. The outdoor one looks onto an extensive garden and a neighboring koi pond. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and a huge platter of local amaebi, or sweet shrimp. My room was very large and had a big balcony facing the sea, so I could watch the sunset. The hotel sits far enough from the main road that it stays quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, and even let me check in two hours early. I really liked my stay.

A good place to stop on the way to Rumoi or Wakkanai. Parking is ample, including a spot for motorcycles right in front of the hotel. The dinner was a pleasant surprise, we really enjoyed the food. It's also a day-use onsen for people in the area. The hotel is a little old, but it feels like an authentic place to stay.
