The surroundings were so peaceful and calm, which I loved most. The owner was cool, calm, and professional, and parking is free as long as there's a spot. Our room was spacious and felt carefully prepared by the staff. I really liked the quality of the meals. The chef is licensed to offer Hida beef from Gifu prefecture, and breakfast is served at 7:30 each morning. There is a shared hot bath tub and a shower available 24 hours, I believe. I visited all the nice onsens around the island, so I didn't use either one. Recommended!

The onsite massage is excellent, and I'd highly recommend booking it if you can. Breakfast starts very early, at 7:30 AM, to accommodate people taking the 9 AM flight. It's a nice place to stay, with a few things to plan around. The hotel is away from the rest of town, so it's quiet, but you'll need a car to get around practically. The rooms are fine, though the walls are fairly thin and the curtains don't block much light. Bring earplugs or an eye mask if you're sensitive to sound or light.

This charming, cozy place has enthusiastic, helpful staff and a quiet, isolated setting that's good for stargazing. It feels like a B&B, though each room has its own toilet, fridge, TV, and so on. When we visited, the main cook wasn't there, so we couldn't have dinner on site. Locals had told me good things about the food. A car is needed to get around practically, and breakfast is served at 7:30 with no flexibility, so it's for early risers. Recommended if you're planning an active stay on Hachijojima, with hiking, diving, and the like.
