The owner’s dedication to food really came through. Breakfast was elaborate, and I haven’t stayed anywhere with better value for the meals. The French dinner was also exceptional, every bit as good as the French food I’ve had dozens of times in Tokyo. Even during Golden Week, one night with two meals cost under 15,000 yen per person. The inn seems to mainly operate as a restaurant, with meals served in that building. Since I was the only guest during my visit, they showed me to a very nice private room. The denim loungewear was a nice touch, too. I’d happily stay again when I’m in the Yamaguchi Prefecture area.

The food at Komuroya Ryokan was so good that I couldn’t finish it all, and the dessert was satisfying too. The inn was clean and well maintained throughout, with a reasonable price. I used the nearby bathing facility. The bath itself wasn’t a hot spring, but having it as a private bath was nice. There aren’t many tourist sights nearby, though Susa Hornfels is worth a visit at least once if you want to experience the history of the earth. I’d recommend Komuroya Ryokan and would gladly stay there often if I were in the area. A perfect 100-point inn.

It looked like a relatively new house, perhaps because it had recently been renovated. There weren’t any restaurants nearby, so it seemed you’d have to eat where you’re staying.

The food was so luxurious and delicious that it made up for the little issues during my one-night summer holiday stay. Just as the reviews promised, the meal didn’t disappoint, and the dessert at the end made me really happy. Thanks for the hospitality. There was a coffee maker, but the cups hadn’t been replaced, the room’s light bulb was out, and the bathtub was only about a third full. The staff seemed busy, though.

Dinner was French with fresh sashimi, and the pumpkin soup and main course were especially delicious. The meals were very satisfying, and the Japanese breakfast set was delicious too. For dessert, though, I would’ve preferred something lighter, like gelato and fruit 🍉🍈🍇. The price was reasonable for a three-day weekend. Service felt a bit mediocre for how affordable it was, and the mother seemed quite busy handling things by herself. Still, the food was really satisfying, and I’d recommend the place. Thanks for your hospitality 😉
