Jujiya Hotel

The staff made the stay especially pleasant. Check-in was easy, the receptionist helped carry my luggage since there isn't an elevator, and when it started raining someone ran out to lend me an umbrella. Bikes are available to rent too. My room was clean, with a soft, comfortable double bed, slippers, and a clean bathroom that had a room and linen spray. There were no odors when I arrived. Breakfast was included: shokupan or toast, butter, jam, and hot coffee, tea, or chocolate. I chose hot chocolate. The view was nice, and Goryokaku park is nearby. The tram is close as well, so getting to the Hakodate morning market is easy. I had a wonderful one-night stay and would recommend it to anyone who isn't very sensitive to noise. A few things to keep in mind: there is no elevator, which may make the place hard to access for disabled guests, older people, or pregnant people. The walls aren't soundproof, and the doors use locks and keys, which some people may not feel comfortable with. These weren't problems for me. If you're arriving with luggage from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station, I'd get off at Hakodate station rather than Goryokaku station. There's no elevator at Goryokaku, and the platform stop is in the middle. From Hakodate, take the tram or a taxi.

It's close to Goryōkaku Tower, and the place is clean. The staff were friendly and really helpful.

This was a good value for the money, and the location worked very well. The building used to be a department store, now renovated with a stylish exposed-concrete interior. My twin room was spacious and had a sofa. There was a microwave, vending machines, and Wi-Fi, for 3,500 yen per person. The pillows are low, which suited me, and pajamas are bathrobes. I did have to adjust the shower temperature each time. There are shops nearby, including Rokkatei within walking distance, plus an airport bus. For the tram, use Goryokaku Koenmae Station.

The location is really convenient. There's a Secoma right across from the building, and Lucky Pierrot, Goryokaku, and the bar district are all within a three-minute walk. The hotel itself seems to be a renovated property, with exposed concrete ceilings and floors and classroom-style chairs that give it a distinctive feel.
