Hi, could you tell me the name of the guesthouse shown in the bunk bed photo? I can only find houses for rent when I search for Route99 hakone. Does it have rooms for individual guests?

We spent a week here and it was such a nice place to relax in Hakone. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the apartment to Yumoto train station and the bus stop. The host welcomed us warmly and left us some snacks. There were lots of ways to pass the time, including Switch and board games, so you won’t get bored 😌🤓

The decor has a nice, polished American style, and the equipment all seemed new. I slept really well after showering and soaking in the bath at night. The view out the window was lovely in the daytime, and it’s close to the Ashi Lake harbor. It was still cold in spring, so outdoor barbecue wasn’t suitable then, but I bet grilling would be great in summer!

We picked Route 99 Hakone for a few days away from city stress, and it turned out to be a cozy, clean guesthouse with a great location near the station and Lake Ashi. The owner was so welcoming and even left a thoughtful note for us. We could borrow board games and Switch for the evenings, which helped us keep relaxing after long days out. I’d gladly stay again, and next time I’d like to bring my elders to enjoy the place too.
