Goryu Drive Station

Very affordable, with a lounge area where you can chat. It’s not very private, but it’s really close to the ski resort.

Simple and cheap, with good hospitality.

This gives me another option when I want to snowboard first thing in the morning. Before, I had to choose between leaving super early or getting up late and sleeping in the car. I was a little nervous about staying in a dormitory for the first time since I was younger, but the other guests were well-mannered and I had no problems. Late check-in is OK too. The toilet has a simple faucet, so the smell is a bit of a concern.

I use this hotel several times a year when I go skiing because it’s such good value for money. The female staff are very kind, too. Sleep depends a lot on whether people nearby snore. At the end of last year, the person next door snored all night, worse than I’d experienced in a while, and even the earplugs I’d brought couldn’t block it out. If snoring bothers you, earplugs are a must. I’ll keep staying here and take thorough measures to block the sound. I hope the hotel stays open for a long time.
