Hotel Hakuba Berg-Land

Lawson is just across the diagonal, which made grabbing things easy. Our deluxe room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was a washer and dryer on our floor, with laundry pods that smelled lovely. The hotel’s shuttle from Hakuba Station was great, and we also arranged rides to Happo Gondola and Iwatake Gondola, which made getting around much easier. We stayed in October and were very comfortable. We’ll book again next time we’re in Hakuba.

The onsen on the fifth floor had a great view of Happo One’s ski slopes. During our stay, guests used it privately by taking turns. The second floor lounge had all the amenities we needed, and we could heat up dinner from Lawson there, which worked well for a longer stay. I also liked having the meeting room when I needed to get some work done, and there’s a great bar on the first floor. The staff were cheerful and engaging. We were surprised to learn that Evo hotel is connected with Evo ski store in Seattle. Breakfast could use more variety, and the boot room should be heated.

The snow-covered mountains outside the room were beautiful, and you see them all around Hakuba as you walk through town. It has a kind of Switzerland feel, almost like you’re somewhere far away from the rest of the world. The front desk staff were really friendly and speak perfect English. Such a fantastic hotel for my Hakuba stay. Five stars, and I’d love to return!

The lounge is a nice spot to hang out, and the staff were friendly and very helpful, which made the stay pleasant. I wish the shuttle went to more than two resorts, but being close to Lawson, happo village, and the bus terminal made that less of an issue.
