Hakuba Hotel Oak Forest - Vacation STAY 34147v

The service was really good, and we liked being able to buy discounted ski passes right at the counter. The rooms were very clean and the Japanese-style room had such comfortable mattresses. Getting around was easy, with a short drive to everything we needed and Echo LAND so close. The Hansen was great. Sitting in the outdoor oneson while it snowed felt surreal, and having a dry room was super convenient. The one thing I’d suggest is replacing the hallway and common-area carpet, since it had a bit of a smoky, musty smell. Our room itself was very clean, though. We weren’t expecting much based on the photos, but it turned out to be a great stay. I’d stay here again when I come back to Hakuba.

The lobby staff were so friendly, and the shuttle stop was right outside the door. We also had a lot of room to spread out, which was great for a ski trip. The hotel has a somewhat old-fashioned style, but we really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the few Echoland resorts that still had availability, and it ended up exceeding what we expected.

Breakfast was included and the buffet was a really nice way to start the day. My room was spacious and clean, with beautiful mountain views, and I found the stay comfortable and good value. There are restaurants, a convenience store, and ski and snowboard rental shops within walking distance. The main bus station is quite far away, though. After I missed the bus from the Happo One bus terminal, I had to walk 3.2km through the snow with my luggage. It was tough, though also invigorating. A free shuttle would have helped a lot. Even with that arrival adventure, I enjoyed Hotel Oak Forest and its comfortable amenities and scenic setting.

The breakfast was nice, and the surroundings were pleasant. They run a shuttle to the ski resorts, offer free parking for guests who drive, and have discounts on chairlift day tickets at different Hakuba resorts. I liked the onsen too, though it closes at 11pm. The location isn’t very convenient. I drove a rental car, so I can’t say for sure, but I think there may be a shuttle from the JR station. The ski equipment drying room smelled a bit, and only one washing machine was working properly.
