Getting around was easy, with Hakuba base camp terminal and lots of good food spots and bars within walking distance. This is an old-fashioned place, but it’s clean and very well run. The local family who own it are genuinely lovely and hospitable. When taxis were all booked, they even arranged for their grandson to drive us to Happo. Highly recommend.

We’d stay here again. The family running the pension provided great service, and the location was excellent. Our room had a neat, tidy private bathroom, and happy hour at the restaurant was timed just right for when we got off the slopes.

It’s hostel-grade accommodation at hotel prices. If you’re expecting student housing or backpacker standards, you might not be disappointed.

A comfortable place in a convenient central spot. It was cozy, quiet, and clean, and the hosts were thoughtful and attentive, with a warm, caring approach.

There are plenty of other inns and hotels around here, and I wouldn’t say this one is worth the price. It wasn’t clean or professional, and the staff blurred the line between private and public matters.
