Yoshi was a great host. They picked us up and dropped us off at the station, and even took us to the grocery store so we could stock up for breakfast, which we made in the cottage each morning. The place is adorable and incredibly cosy, and the futons were just right after long days snowboarding. I almost want to keep it to myself so it’s available next time. It’s on the smaller side, and four adults had a few space challenges, but we managed with some organising. It was worth it for the price and location: ten minutes on foot to happo-one, five minutes to a free bus stop for the other resorts, and plenty of restaurants about ten minutes away one direction, with even more the other way, including lawsons.

Really good accommodation, five-star service, and a lovely owner who gave us free rides around Hakuba. The private onsen was the best!

The owner offers rides anywhere you want to go from 8 am to 8 pm, so you may not even need the walk to town or the Happo One gondola. The biggest town in Hakuba, with restaurants, a combini, and an onsen, is also within walking distance. The wooden cottage is cosy and looks great inside and out. It was very warm, with heated floors and comfy reclining single couches. There's even a small air-fryer-style appliance for crisping up combini pastries at breakfast. Probably one of the best places I've stayed on any trip. Please stay here, it's the best choice for a ski trip.

The private onsen was a highlight: after skiing, soaking in the huge hot tub while looking out at a little private snow garden was amazing. We stayed in early January, and the place was much better than its online listing suggested. The owners were friendly and helpful, driving us to other ski resorts and into town for restaurants, which made the trip less expensive. The cabins are lovely, well equipped, and in a great location.

We leaned heavily on the transfer service during our stay in Hakuba and texted manager Toshi a lot to arrange rides and ask questions, since it was our first time skiing there. Toshi was patient every time and gave us detailed information. The cottage was clean and cosy, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend booking the private bath too.
