We were glad to have plenty of room, and the filling breakfasts and dinners were just right before and after long days skiing. The ski lockers are well organised, and we made good use of the onsen, sauna, and on-site ski waxing. Laundry is available at reception for a small fee, with detergent supplied and staff happy to show you how it works. This was our second year in a row at Petite Hotel Shitaka, and the warm, personal welcome from Chihu san, her family, and the staff made it another lovely stay. The ski in, ski out access to the Shirakaba lifts at Happo One feels safe and easy. Free shuttles are five minutes down the hill, or you can ski over to the bottom of Adam Gondola to connect with them. The bus station and Lawsons take a longer walk when you need them. We'd happily recommend it to families, groups, or solo travellers looking for a comfortable Hakuba base.

The only real drawback is the steep hill, plus it's about a 10-15 minute walk into the village centre. Even so, we'd gladly come back. The hotel has a warm feel, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the ski in, ski out location is fantastic. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the Happo-One ski in, ski out access made this a great place to stay. I'd definitely come back.

My partner and I weren't happy sharing our bed and bathroom with mold. The view was incredible, and using the hotel's snowboard and ski facilities was easy. With Petit Shitaka, the premium seems to be for the location's convenience, rather than the room quality.

We came with a big group of family friends and had a wonderful time. The beds were comfortable, the onsen and sauna were lovely, and everyone enjoyed the included breakfast. The drying room and ski gear area worked well too. The mostly family staff were kind and welcoming. I'd recommend the place and book another stay.
