Sheltered Inn Hakuba

We fit in really well as a big group of four families. The team were super helpful, and being close to Echoland’s restaurants was great. Having three vans was a game changer, since we could visit a different resort each day.

Our group of 13 stayed here for a full week, and the host Geoff was quick to respond and made sure things were in order. They even went the extra mile with pickups and drop-offs for all of us. The house had a big living room, a well-equipped kitchen and large, clean bedrooms. There were spacious bathrooms, more than enough for everyone. The van came in handy, as everything is a short drive away, and restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk. Five stars from us, and I can’t recommend it enough!

The lodge’s location worked well, central to several ski areas and within walking distance of Echoland’s bars and restaurants. The place is beautifully presented and finished to a high standard. Before we arrived, Geoff gave us helpful information about the lodge and resort. Once there, Nick and Jasmine answered our questions about skiing, entertainment and administrative matters. Their transport service was great, and they went above and beyond with professional help at any hour. We spent 10 days skiing in Hakuba, and the whole trip was fantastic. The Sheltered Inn and its management team of Nick and Jasmine made it even better than expected. I really hope to return. Thanks, guys!

Of the three Hakuba lodges we’ve stayed in, this one is the best. It’s modern, clean and relaxing, a truly top-notch place. Geoff is about the nicest guy you could meet, and might give you the shirt off his back if you asked. He and the staff, Jana and Viktor, went far beyond normal service several times to help us make the most of Hakuba. It’s set up for skiers and riders, with good food and rest before heading out early for first tracks. There’s enough fun for people who still want to party, yet it’s so well appointed and the service is so good that you could book it for your mom’s holiday.
