Breakfast was fantastic, and the nightly menu options, available at an extra cost, were phenomenal. Our room was far bigger than any other place we’ve stayed in across Japan. We spent four days here with friends and a child, and after struggling to find a place during a busy period, we were so glad we found Snowlines Lodge. Steve, his wife, and the staff were fantastic. There’s a free morning shuttle to most, if not all, local ski fields, plus bus terminal pickups and drop-offs. The lounge areas are warm and cozy, the bar has great options, and the atmosphere is friendly. Steve and his family are incredible hosts. We’ll be back, and we’ll keep recommending this little gem to friends and family.

Stephen and Sarasa made us feel part of their family. It really felt like a home away from home. The rooms were spacious and clean, which isn’t always the case in Japan, and the dry room was excellent. The well-maintained, clean Onsen was a huge bonus. Stephen and Sarasa kept checking whether we needed help or recommendations, and their staff were great too. You could tell they enjoyed working with the family. It was my fifth trip to Japan in 18 years, and I loved this hotel. Can’t wait to return.

After a day on the mountain, the Onsen’s were a great way to relax. The place was very clean and tidy, breakfast was just right, and the dinners made in house were delicious. The location was perfect, and the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend Snowlines Lodge for a Hakuba visit.

Evenings were easy to enjoy too. Echoland is a short walk away, and we had some exceptional meals there. Stephen and Sarasa helped with restaurant bookings and recommendations, and the lodge arranged transport when we booked a place in another part of Hakuba, where getting a ride isn’t easy. We enjoyed every meal. The lodge also has a beautiful onsen, warm fireplaces, cozy shared lounges, and an extensive bar for après or evening drinks. We enjoyed chatting with other families and couples there. Breakfast is included, and there’s a large drying room for ski gear before you hop on Stephen’s shuttle to the slopes. It made it easy to try different mountains on different days. We didn’t need rentals, but the lodge helped other families with rental drop-offs and pickups. Before we arrived, communication with Stephen was exceptional. He picked us up from Hakuba station, showed us around town and the lodge, and made sure we felt settled right away. The team was available whenever we had questions, and sharing tips with other guests made getting around easy. Stephen, Sarasa, and their staff made the whole stay seamless and enjoyable. We had the best time at Snowlines Lodge Hakuba, and they went above and beyond to help us have a fantastic holiday. Thank you, Snowlines!

The lodge staff were friendly and gave us helpful tips about the mountains based on conditions. The other guests were easy to get along with, and we even ran into some old friends. Small world! We enjoyed the traditional Japanese dinners prepared on site, including Sukiyaki and Nabe, after days of snow adventures. They were delicious and nourishing, made with care and fresh local ingredients that brought out the region’s flavors. Set in Hakuba’s breathtaking landscape, Snow Lines Lodge felt cozy and welcoming right away. I highly recommend it for comfort, culture, and food. A 5-star experience all around!
