Summit Views Hakuba

The staff were incredible and went out of their way for us. They have a hotel transfer service to take you where you need to go, whether that’s for food or an experience. The place had what we needed and more, with shuttles to all the mountains, places to eat, and their own onsen nearby. We absolutely loved staying here. Thanks, guys, I can’t recommend it enough!

Summit Views went above and beyond for our family of four. When Yamato missed the cutoff for sending our bags to the hotel, we had to bring all six suitcases on the train from Tokyo. I contacted the hotel from our bus from Nagano to Hakuba, and they picked us up at the bus station. On our way home, they explained that Yamato only takes cash, then drove us to the depot and waited while our luggage was prepared for shipping to the airport. We wouldn’t have known about the cash otherwise. That kind of help made our trip much easier. Hakuba was a wonderful place to ski and explore, and the hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The location was handy, with the gondola, bus station, restaurants, and especially Lawson all a short walk away. Our family room had three standard beds and a fold-out bed. They were all comfortable, and there was enough space for us not to feel cramped. The bathroom was a small Japanese prefabricated unit with an integrated tub, sink, and toilet. It was a bit tight for my two teenagers and all their hair and skincare products, but it worked fine. The hotel onsen was lovely after skiing. Each floor also had a small coffee machine that dispensed hot and cold water and hot chocolate. We all liked having hot chocolate on the way back to our room. Breakfast was included, with plenty of decent options and different items each day. We didn’t get to try the hotel izakaya, but other people told us it was excellent. We had a fantastic time. The location is superb, within walking distance of the bus station, shuttle stops, restaurants, bars, and pretty much anything you might need. The team were great at looking after guests, and the bar and lounge staff were fun and knew the local area well. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were fab quality with plenty of choice. The onsen and sauna were the best, and never busy. Rooms were good too. Great value for money, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

We stayed for 10 nights, and the place was great. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. It’s only 200m from the bus station where you catch the ski buses, and breakfast is included. Dinner was really good too. We’ll book again for next year.
