The breakfast was a freshly made Japanese set meal, and I enjoyed it more than the commercial-style buffet food at nearby business hotels. The room was roomy even for a single, with a sofa and table. The building itself is old, but the renovated interior was fairly clean, and there was fresh machine-brewed coffee and a welcome drink on the first floor. The hotel sits on a small hill, so walking back after a meal can be a bit tiring, though it wasn’t a long walk and was fine for me. My stay was trouble-free, breakfast was satisfying, and the price was lower than at nearby hotels. I’d stay here again on a future business trip to Hamada.
The free washer and dryer were a real plus, though the dryer was weak. After 90 minutes my clothes were still barely dry, so if you’re in a hurry, the laundry place at the bottom of the hill may be a better option. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and the coffee, amenities, and service made the stay convenient. I was there for one night on a trip, and the price felt incredibly reasonable for the room size and facilities. It’s up on a hill, a bit away from the station and bars, but the amenities made up for that.
The building is generally old, but it’s kept clean and looked after. Breakfast was served in the dining area beside the lobby and tasted good. There’s a supermarket about a 15-minute walk away. It’s close to JR Hamada Station, though the uphill walk can be a bit of a challenge. Parking was free, and the laundry facilities cost nothing to use.
From the top floor, the fourth, the view across Hamada city was excellent. The hotel is tucked away in a residential area, though restaurants near the station are a walk away and the hill adds a little time. My companion noticed a slight smell in the room, perhaps from the plumbing. It didn’t bother me, and it wasn’t an issue once we went to sleep. I stayed in a Western-style room, with an air purifier, table, refrigerator, kettle, hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner, and body soap. There was also a microwave and kettle in the hallway, plus tea, black tea, and drip coffee from the lobby machine. Amenities were available there too. The renovated interior was clean, the staff were kind, and the old-fashioned Showa-era feel was nostalgic and comfortable. I was there on the middle night of a three-day weekend and had a comfortable stay without any problems.
The Japanese-Western room felt spacious and comfortable, and the service was good. The parking area is a little small, but there was space to park. It was also close to the station, which was handy.
