Musubinoyado Airinkan

The garden was lovely for a walk, and the scenery around the hotel was especially beautiful with the autumn leaves. They’ve also clearly put effort into keeping insects out, which helped make the room pleasant. The food and service were both very good. I’d definitely consider coming back to Airinkan.

We chose the “maternity plan,” and it was thoughtfully set up for us: the beds were ready, with an extra body pillow prepared as well. The private hot spring bath was my favorite so far. It has both an indoor and outdoor bath, plus a baby tub, baby shampoo, and little toys suitable for babies and young children. Such a lovely hot spring hotel.

The dinner was excellent, and the rooms were nice enough with great views. Breakfast, though, was about what you’d expect at a cheap hotel, nothing different. The clean room and excellent dinner are why I’m giving three stars. For me, everything else deserves one. The COVID measures felt extreme and frustrating. COVID isn’t going away, and people worried about catching it probably shouldn’t be visiting an onsen resort. Buying a beer was another irritation: having to walk to a machine, press five buttons, and get a ticket just to purchase one seems like an easy thing to improve.

The onsen view and the surroundings are beautiful, and the room is spacious and clean. Dinner was good too. The buffet didn’t have much to choose from, though, and there was no sashimi. The five-star kids’ meal should be a hit with children.
