Hanno Dai-Ichi Hotel

The room was small and smelled far too much of cigarettes, and the pillows weren't comfortable. At least it's close to the station.

For an overnight business trip, the room was fine, and the price seemed reasonable. The room was small and the facilities felt old, though. What stood out right when I came in was the strong cigarette smell in the lobby.

Being near the station was the best part. The lighting used a plug-in key, and although the bathroom unit was out of order, the lights worked apart from the entrance, so that wasn't a hassle. The window in my assigned room was hard to open. It faced the main entrance of an apartment building and had only a plain wooden double door, with no screen. That felt inconsiderate, and I wonder if there were any problems with it. By chance, maybe, the bathtub wasn't draining. I noticed when it was almost overflowing into the room. The bath mat was underwater and my slippers were floating. I quickly turned the faucet halfway open, and it was okay, but it was a horrible experience. They cleaned it up the next day, but I wish they'd been more attentive to daily cleaning. When I checked in on the second day, three staff members were crowded together with three cleaning carts, something I'd never seen before, and it was hard to get into the room smoothly. I question the hotel's policy.

The station is close, and there are free books to read, but the lobby has a cigarette smell.
