Pension Image House

The owner gave me a lift to the trailhead at 5 AM the next morning, and said I could call if I missed the 4 PM bus. That kindness made for a really heartwarming night, and I’m very grateful. I stayed before climbing Mount Yatsugatake and arrived after 7 PM, but they welcomed me without hesitation. I’d planned to eat at a restaurant near Fujimi Station before checking in, but it was closed, so I brought a convenience store bento and ate in the dining room. Tea, water, and coffee were provided, which made the stay comfortable. I also had a very meaningful conversation with the owner over my meal. I’ll definitely stay here again.

We were there in mid-September, and the cool, comfortable weather made it a lovely break from the usual routine. We stayed with two couples and our three dogs, who were happy running freely around the garden and staying with us the whole time. We even enjoyed a garden BBQ with them. The bedding stood out, too. A high-quality mattress and fluffy down comforter helped ease our travel fatigue. There are plenty of nearby places to visit, including hot springs for day trips, farms where you can spend time with your dogs, and flower fields. We want to come back next year and for years after that.

Breakfast in the garden on the refreshing plateau was the best. We picked up bread and other things at the nearby morning market, and when we came back, they had a place ready for us to eat. They also brought freshly brewed coffee and tea. On the way home, the owner, who used to be a photographer, took professional family photos for us. We’re looking forward to getting them later. We love Hara Village, but this was our first time staying at this pension, for one night during a family summer vacation. We’d heard about the barbecue and brought all the ingredients, then realized we hadn’t signed up because of a misunderstanding. They quickly got a barbecue area ready anyway, so we still had a delicious meal. The owners were kind, the facilities simple and clean, and tea, coffee, and other drinks were available so we could relax. I’m really glad we stayed. It’s such a wonderful pension at a reasonable price, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

The location and atmosphere are great, and the lobby is a relaxing place to sit with a cup of coffee. You bring your own coffee. The value is so good I almost don't want to tell anyone, since I'd be sad if I couldn't get a reservation. I'd like to stay here regularly. The rooms and toilets are clean. The bath gets steamy, but you can use it anytime, and it feels great.
