The top-floor room had a beautiful view of the Itsukushima Torii. The elevator only reaches the floor below, so we had to use the stairs for the last part. That was fine since we were travelling light, but it's something to ask about or consider before booking. We also had to return our room key to the front desk each time we went out. Sakuraya is very convenient, just a couple of minutes on foot from the ferry terminal. We arrived about two hours before check-in and could leave our luggage at reception. The staff were really friendly and sweet. We stayed one night in January. The room was spacious and clean, and the futons had already been laid out for us. If I get back to Miyajima, I'd book Sakuraya again. Thanks for a lovely stay!

My room happened to have an ocean view, which was lucky. The staff were friendly and very diligent, the room was clean, and everything about the stay was pleasant. The hotel is right on the pier. I wish I could give them an extra star for making my time in Miyajima special. I can't recommend them enough.

A good little place for one night or a weekend away. We had three people in our room, so the extra bathroom facilities on each floor were handy when we needed to share mirror space. The room was clean and had what we needed. There was a simple but decent breakfast in the morning, and they stored our luggage after checkout. The showers were fairly Western in style, which I liked.

There's a small Sento in the basement, traditional Japanese restaurant rooms, and great service. The place clearly has a lot of care put into it, and the view over the Miyajima shrine made for a memorable stay at a good value.
