Business Hotel Shinsuma

The breakfast was a tasty Japanese buffet, and I was glad to see curry on offer in the morning. I was staying for business and had originally booked one night online, but my plans changed and I needed several. I’d booked a twin room with a bathroom for the day my wife joined me, while the first night was in a room with shared bathroom and toilet. At check-in, the staff kindly let me keep that same twin room with a bathroom from the first night. The room is dated, but the service and cleaning were good, so I have no complaints. For business, the price and facilities are enough for me. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

The staff were gentle and helpful, and having the usual amenities ready was a big help. My room had a kettle and sink, so I could make tea, and the air conditioning worked well. It’s within walking distance of the station, in a quiet and convenient spot. The place seems to have been an inn before being run as a business hotel. The wallpaper could do with replacing.

It’s old, but they keep it in good shape. Cleaning and meals are kept pretty basic, and there don’t seem to be many employees. The place gives me the impression of being run efficiently.

The rooms are definitely old, but they’re fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep. The building has an old-fashioned feel that made me nostalgic for high school club trips or training camps, and the breakfast buffet brought back the same feeling. I found breakfast perfectly adequate. The service felt like it was run by an independent owner, and they even encouraged me to stay past checkout time. Hekinan Chuo station is easy to reach, with a convenience store nearby.
