The proprietress and staff made us feel very welcome and were a great help. Our room was lovely and had all the modern conveniences, and the meals were delicious with generous portions. A wonderful inn in peaceful Hida-Furukawa. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Gifu prefecture.

The ryokan feels tucked away among gardens and water, even though it’s only a five-minute walk from the town center. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I can’t wait to return. Inside, the rooms are spacious and unusual, and the building has beautiful woodwork and art. Meals are carefully made with local herbs and regional specialties, then served on lovely vintage porcelain and crystal. A magical stay.

We found the rooms especially comfortable, with traditional Japanese charm alongside all the modern conveniences. The proprietress and staff were very welcoming too. A lovely ryokan in picturesque Hida-Furukawa, and one I’d strongly recommend to anyone visiting Gifu prefecture.

That private onsen was such a treat, and the food was delicious. I left feeling completely recharged because the whole ryokan is so calm and relaxing. Absolutely loved staying here, and I’d happily come back. 🥰

A lovely family-run ryokan with exquisite food. The herbal liquor and hard candy were really unusual and memorable.
