Pension Masquerade

It’s a quiet spot for taking it easy, even though there isn’t much going on nearby, and the free Wi-Fi was a nice extra. The owner was warm and very helpful, and the place felt family-friendly. You can borrow board games from the front desk, and the meals were more than enough for the price. The kids especially liked the strawberries, which are one of the pension’s selling points. The rooms are simply furnished but roomy for a pension. Bath times are set, so you use them according to the schedule.

My partner and I booked this place for a trip to Izu Animal Kingdom. We reached the station around 5:30 PM for a 6 PM check-in, and they kindly picked us up by car even though it was dinner time. The building is tucked deep in the mountains, but there are several signs along the way, so it was easy to find by car. We ate in a dining room with lots of windows and a pleasant atmosphere. Both meals came with a good number of dishes, and we were completely full, so come very hungry. The first night we had simmered sea bream. Since we were the only guests on the second night, they changed the menu for us. Everything tasted good, but the sea bream and the strawberry smoothie at breakfast were especially delicious.

We were very happy with the meals on our family trip. Dinner had lots of different dishes, including a boat-shaped platter, and the children were pleased to have a separate menu. Breakfast was delicious too. We’d like to stay again next time we visit Izu.

My family and I stayed here, and the staff’s kindness really touched me. The food was delicious, and at this price it felt like a great deal. Thank you, we’ll definitely come back.
