My favorite thing was sitting by the big windows in the dining room and watching the mountain views change throughout the day. We stayed five nights and loved the place. There's a good setup here, with a communal area, shared kitchen, big onsen open from 3pm-9am, ski waxing room, snack shop, and convenient laundry. Cross-country skiers can reach the trails across the road, behind the hotel opposite K House. The staff were great. I left something in my room, and they carefully wrapped it and shipped it right away. It arrived the next day. Above and beyond!

Just a short walk from the ropeway, this onsen feels tucked away in nature. I loved going down in the middle of the night after a long day on the mountain and having the outdoor pool entirely to myself. It gave me the harmony I look for when traveling in Japan. Thanks for the hospitality. Hokkaido will always be cherished in my memory.

The staff at K’s House were so welcoming and helpful, and a special thanks to Maria for letting me help decorate the Christmas tree. I spent my last four nights at K’s House Hostel, a cool little gem tucked away in the mountains. It has a cosy lodge feel, with a quirky communal lounge that was perfect for unwinding in the evening. The kitchen was well equipped, even with basic herbs provided, which I really appreciated. Everything, including the onsite onsen, was spotless and tidy. Our twin room was a good size and comfortable. You can walk to the ropeway, or take the bus. On a day I didn't ski, I took the bus down to Higashikawa and explored ‘the town of Photography.’ Big thanks!

The onsen here is very good, especially the outdoor section, and the staff are accommodating. The hostel is spacious, with a clean communal kitchen. It's a good base for heading up to Asahidake mountain. I booked around October of 2025. In autumn, expect lots of outdoor bugs drawn to the hostel's heat and lights.

I treated myself to a hotel room for two nights and it didn't disappoint. The room was clean, roomy enough, and had reliable wifi. The dining room has a lodge atmosphere and is open to everyone, whether staying in the hostel or the rooms. The kitchen is large and well stocked with cooking tools. At the far end of the dining area, there's an item exchange where guests can leave things or pick up something useful. The onsen is open to all guests, divided into men's and women's sections with changing rooms. There are pools at different temperatures, and I had it almost to myself each time. Remember to wash before and after using the onsens. The ropeway for the trails is a short walk away. You can walk from the parking lot to the top station, but it takes a substantial amount of time and leaves less time for the trails higher up. A public bus from Asahikawa runs to the hotel fairly often, and isn't too expensive considering the distance and remoteness. Hitchhiking is also possible. Food is sold at the Hostel, but bring what you'll need for your stay, especially if you have particular preferences, restrictions, or allergies. Recommend.
