It was just okay, with few accommodations, and below what I’d expected. The peeling wallpaper in the room and a can of bug spray displayed by the door said a lot. Breakfast was far too expensive for what was on offer, and parking was very limited. Wi-Fi worked the first night, then was out for the rest of my stay.

It’s an older hotel and seems to have been renovated, but everything worked very well. The food was very good, with plenty of fruit, and most of the staff were foreigners and all were very polite. I have no complaints, and the value for money was great. This was my first stay, and I plan to come back more often.

The rooms aren’t perfect and the hotel is a little old, but the service was superb and the food very good. It’s a great place for kids. I had a great time and will be back.

The area was beautiful and fun to explore, especially if you rent a bike for the day. The location and private onsen were the only good parts of our stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re staying in the area. The room was dirty and uncomfortable. There are no elevators, so expect stairs. The tub wasn’t sealed, and the wall behind it was getting wet and had mold. The shower curtain and very dirty AC unit were moldy too. The bedding was stained, the bed uncomfortable, and we could hear the TV next door and every door closing. The laundry room was open to the outside and full of flying ants, mosquitoes, and beetles. We had to pay for both laundry and soap, and I could barely wash my clothes while swatting bugs and trying to keep them out of the washer and dryer. I complained, and when we returned, the bugs were gone and the door was shut. I don’t know why that hadn’t been dealt with before. At checkout, we wanted to forward our large suitcase of souvenirs to our next hotel. The staff had us fill out the form, which seemed odd because staff at other hotels in Japan had handled it for us. When we asked the cost, the staff member said not to worry about it. We left, skeptical, and later learned he’d sent it cash on arrival. So it wasn’t at our next hotel when we got there.
