The seafood meals are generous, so come hungry. There’s lots of fresh, delicious local seafood at both breakfast and dinner. The place has traditional, cozy Japanese rooms and very kind staff. From the property you get the best view in the area, just a short walk up the hill from the shrine and beach. There are outdoor showers to rinse off in the afternoon, a washing machine you can use for free, and the bath is accessible 24 hours. Reservations are easy, but usually you have to pay a deposit by bank transfer in advance, so tourists may need to ask about that.

It’s quite a climb up the mountain, but the place has a lot of atmosphere, like visiting a Japanese granny. The house is a bit tired, yet clean and cozy, and the view from the second floor is lovely. We’d happily come back.

An elderly lady welcomed us and saw us off, which was lovely. The place feels very authentically Japanese, and the view from the second floor is excellent. It’s old, but clean, and the price feels right for the conditions.

The food is tasty and filling, and the rooms are clean with a great ocean view from the balcony. The owners, a father and son, are very honest people. Driving a large vehicle could be hard if you’re not confident at it, and winter might be a better time to visit if you don’t like bugs. I’d definitely stay again.

I’m glad I stayed here on my summer trip to Shizuoka. The staff were so friendly, and the meals were delicious and filling. The pension itself left me very satisfied. Getting there was the tough part, since the roads were narrow and steep and the uphill drive was quite a challenge.
