The food was just as wonderful as we remembered from 2019. I contacted the ryokan ahead of our second visit to ask whether blackthroated fish could be served again, and the chef confirmed at dinner that he could arrange it. We were delighted. The renovations made this stay even better than the first. Our room and toilet were beautifully upgraded, each group has a private area in the renovated dining room, and there are three onsen baths for private use. It all felt carefully thought through, and we left very satisfied, eager to return.

We had seasonal, plentiful meals in a private dining room, and everything was delicious. The service was polite and pleasant as well. The inn didn’t feel like a guesthouse. The room and toilet were spacious and clean, the facilities were barrier-free, and there was a pitcher of tasty Toyama water in the room. We could use the private bath whenever it was available during the stated hours, then have ice cream afterward. I would’ve liked coffee milk, personally. I’d gladly stay here again.

The sandy beach is right in front, and I’d like to come back in summer. There’s also a park next door. Salt damage had closed the playground equipment, but there was room to play ball or frisbee. In fall 2025, we paid 47,000 yen per night for two adults and one child in a mountain-facing room. It was a bit of a splurge, but I was very satisfied. Every meal was delicious, and breakfast was especially lavish, with crab soup and chawanmushi. There’s no large public bath, but the three family baths are reservation-free and can be used when available. Since there seem to be only five or six rooms, we could get one most of the time. The water wasn’t too hot, and a long soak followed by sweating when we got out felt refreshing. Free water, sparkling water, and coffee by the front desk were nice too. There’s no elevator and the stairs are steep, so older guests may find them difficult.

We visited in winter, but with the ocean nearby I imagine the summer sunsets are beautiful. The recently renovated rooms were very clean, and the food was tasty with generous portions. The alkaline hot spring left my skin feeling smooth. You can lock the door while using the bath, which makes it feel as if you have the whole place to yourself.

The sea was lovely, and even with clouds over the beach we could see the Tateyama mountain range. I enjoyed a relaxing walk and would like to return during swimming season. There are only a few rooms, so we used all three private baths without any conflicts, three times during our two-day, one-night stay. You can check availability online and use them as often as you like when they’re free. It was easy to relax with the children. The meals were the best I’ve had at any inn or hotel. Seasonal sashimi, Himi beef, and grilled salted blackthroat seaperch were excellent, and the rest was carefully made and comforting. It was my first time having fish soup that good. The tempura wasn’t greasy, and the ingredients’ sweetness came through, even in the pumpkin and sweet potato. The children’s omelet rice was simple but incredibly delicious. I’d love to come again and would recommend the inn to friends.
