Minshuku Shiokaze

The meals were luxurious for such a cheap stay, and the owner was lovely and kind. The building is old, and I stayed with my dog, but there aren't any amenities for dogs. If stairs are difficult for you, it might be better to ask for a second-floor room.

Pets are allowed here, and the inn is right by the ocean. You can head out for a swim in your swimsuit, then rinse off with the handy hot shower when you come back. Dinner was so generous that we couldn't finish it all.

I came after seeing all the reviews about the food, and they were right: there was so much delicious food that I overate. Breakfast and dinner both had plenty of Himi specialties. The place has a retro look inside and out, with cats lounging in the entrance and rooms. From our room we could see the sea, and I loved sitting on the balcony in the morning to watch it. I'm glad a place like this is still around in the Reiwa era. It's a little old, but the amenities and room basics were all fine, including the air conditioning, air purifier, kettle and tea. The bathroom was a bit larger than a typical home one, with room for two adults to stretch their legs. When I visited, the shampoo was L◯X, which was great! lol. I'd love to go again.

The fish at dinner was excellent, and I left full and very satisfied. I visited before spring, and the rooms were just right for a minshuku (Japanese-style inn). With the ocean directly in front, it also looks like a great place to swim in summer.
