The onsen got busy, but it never felt too crowded. Outside, there was only one small chair to sit on. My room was the largest Dormy Inn room I’ve stayed in. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from Hiroshima’s main attractions, so the location could be better. I love Dormy Inns!

The onsen is a real highlight at Dormy Inn, and this one was pretty good. The sauna was spacious for a hotel sauna, and the evening freebies, ice cream and noodles, make the stay even nicer. Dormy Inn is definitely my favorite hotel chain in Japan. Room sizes vary by location, but they’re generally quite spacious by Japanese standards. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here; I couldn’t spot any dust.

The free extras were a lovely part of the stay: chef-made ramen from 9.30pm, ice creams, and Yakult in the morning. The rooms were very clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a bus stop two minutes away that takes you toward the center or station, and the Peace Memorial Park is about a 20ish min walk. We had an incredible stay, highly recommend it, and I’ll look at Dormy Inn next time.

The onsen was a nice bonus, with hot and cold baths, a sauna, and an outdoor-style bath. The location worked well too: about a 20-minute walk to the Peace Memorial and the ferry for Miyajima, with konbini and plenty of restaurants nearby. From the photos I expected an older, budget sort of place, but the room was clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious by Japanese hotel standards. I'd happily recommend staying here.

The hot spring and breakfast were both fantastic. The room, though, had a really strong cigarette smell when I stayed one night with a friend. Opening the window didn't help, and it was awful 😞
