Hotel Active Hiroshima

Breakfast staff were exceptionally polite, and the Western food selection was limited but adequate. I know rooms in Japan are small, but this was the smallest we had across seven stays. The room's space was poorly used, with a large desk and a badly placed TV. The bed wasn't comfortable, and we wouldn't choose this hotel again. Not a complaint about Japan.

At night it gets very dark and quiet. My favorite thing was the free breakfast, which was surprisingly good. They also had free coffee, tea, and cocoa on every floor, and I was impressed to find a charging cable by the bedside. The room is a standard size for a Japanese budget hotel, with a TV and an English remote-control manual.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and their English was excellent. It's in a decent area, about a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima station. The rooms have a businessman's feel, set up like a place to get work done. The bathrooms are quite small, so they may be awkward if you're used to larger ones. A nice budget hotel.

Breakfast was great, with both Western and Japanese options. The vending machines were handy and the laundry facilities were good. Our room was clean, but very small. The staff didn't speak English, yet they were helpful throughout, including putting a lot of effort into arranging luggage forwarding.
