The staff were friendly, and the woman who checked me in spoke excellent English. My room on an upper floor was clean and had a view of the train station and bay. It came with a small fridge, desk, chairs facing the bay, a standard Japanese bidet, and a large shower with great water pressure. The Japanese-style bed and low seats suited me, and I like a firm mattress. The hotel is right next to the station, with a Lawsons attached and plenty of restaurants very close by. I didn’t use the Onsen.

The open-air onsen was a good experience, especially going in when it was -6 and being completely naked. I paid about 5-6k ¥ for one night. My only downside was the pillow, which was hard and lumpy.

It’s right by the Shinkansen. You could throw a baseball from the train station and hit the place! I don’t know why anyone would give it less than five stars, because the staff bent over backwards to help me. The yukatas are a little small for Americans, but, well, this is Japan. Some people here say they couldn’t use the onsen with tattoos, but I have five and nobody said anything. Don’t make a big deal of it and you should be fine.

The room felt a little small, but they arranged the bed well, which left us with a decent amount of space. The air conditioning worked well too.

There was plenty of room, but it was really dirty. I saw marks on the floor and walls, plus water stains on the bathroom wall. It made me wonder if the nicer rooms are kept for locals and important guests.
