Mark, Abbi, and their daughter have made a perfect getaway in the heart of the Japanese Alps. They clearly love what they do, and it comes through in the warm staff and the hospitality. The breakfasts and dinners are delicious, the cocktails are fun, and the ambient music is outstanding. Part of me wants to keep Mark and Abbi’s resort a secret, but their place deserves to be celebrated. Can’t wait to come back next season!

It’s a friendly, laid-back place, so if you’re after something super efficient and commercial, try somewhere else. Mark’s music in the background was great, and he must be around our age. The lodge is a couple of minutes’ walk from the slopes. The rooms are comfortable, roomy, and surprisingly warm. Shared toilets and showers work fine. Breakfast was delicious, with a few quirky choices that fit the place’s vibe. Dinner is served at Greenhouse Cafe, with a mix of Australian pub food and traditional Japanese dishes. Highly recommended.

The bar and restaurant serve a great selection of tasty food and drinks, with local and Western choices as well as homemade chu-hai (lemon sour). Mark and Abbie were incredibly hospitable. They arranged rides from the local bus stop, offered great prices on snowboard rentals, and provided a very clean, comfortable room and facilities. It’s a two-minute walk to the snow runs, other restaurants, and onsens. Highly recommend it, thanks!

The homemade burgers were absolutely fantastic, and they even gave us ice cream afterward for free. The people here are awesome too, really nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

The place has such a homey but lively feel, and I can’t fault a thing. The homemade gyoza were delicious, and the Green Tree Frogs cocktails really stood out. Thanks, Mark & Abbi, for a wonderful stay. I’ll definitely be back, and I won’t stop talking about this place.
