HOTEL R9 The Yard Iizuka

I don’t recommend this hotel for people working on-site who need to send their luggage directly to the hotel. They won’t accept deliveries, so the parcel is held at the delivery center. If that were possible, I’d stay here again, but not being able to do it is a major problem. I’ve never had trouble with a regular business hotel, so I sent my luggage without thinking twice and paid for it. It’s a shame.

I’d always wanted to stay in a container hotel, and this one exceeded my expectations. You can’t take a shortcut to the convenience store next door, though. You have to go around by the sidewalk, and I imagine it could be very cold in winter. They said they had light meals, but what they actually had were regular frozen bento boxes, which made me wonder what they meant by “light meals.” It might not be enough for men, but as a woman with a small appetite, I was pleasantly surprised.

This was my first stay, and I was surprised that the interior was about the same size as a regular business hotel. The rooms were clean and snacks were included, so I thought it was good value for money.

Maybe it was the time of year, but the price felt quite high. The room was clean, though the chairs looked very cheap, and the location isn’t very convenient. I’m not sure it would work well for a long stay.
