I had a great view from my room, the service was impeccable, and breakfast was amazing. It was extremely good value, too. The place is a peaceful escape from Osaka, Kyoto, or Nara, and it's right next to Hozanji Temple. I'd highly recommend taking an evening stroll up to the temple. Few sights have ever taken my breath away like that.

The food was great, and I enjoyed staying in this interesting, well-kept Taisho era building. It's also a handy base for visiting places of interest in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara.

Dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and high quality for such an affordable price. The rooms were spacious, lovely, clean, and cool, with stunning views. The whole place was quiet, the air felt fresh, and the hallway had a pleasant incense scent from the entrance. The restrooms were extremely clean, the staff were very kind, and the dining room was stylish and lovely. The bathroom, though, was small and old. Excellent stay, truly the best. I'll bring my friends when they visit Kansai.

My middle school-aged child enjoyed the food so much that they finished both dinner and breakfast. The sake selection was good, too, and very tasty. I was glad the owner explained the sake and let us sample it during dinner. Thank you! These days, lots of restaurants don't carry much sake, so I hope you keep offering several seasonal varieties.

This was a few years ago, around the time of the coronavirus pandemic. I was put in a non-smoking room, but the futon smelled of smoke, and the tobacco odor got into my hair and body. At checkout they checked thoroughly to make sure everything was okay. I was also given the odd but apparently helpful advice not to bring anyone inside secretly. I'd never experienced anything like it before, so thanks for the fond memories. You're really doing business in the presence of Buddha. It's something how the way you're treated seems to vary with guests' nationality. In my case, was it because I'm a woman from the east? I'm originally from Kansai. Is the woman who seems to be the proprietress suited to doing business in the presence of Buddha? Sorry, that was a stupid question. Apart from the woman who seems to be the proprietress, I'm truly grateful to the person who prepared food for me early in the morning.
