Dormy Inn Takamatsuchuokoenmae Natural Hot Spring

A night here was a really good experience, and the place was clean and cozy. The udon at breakfast was the best I've ever had, chewy, elastic, smooth, and incredibly delicious. If it isn't a trade secret, could someone tell me where I can buy it? The natto was better than the other kinds I tried on the trip, and the fried breakfast foods were delicious too. I might fly back to Japan just for breakfast someday. The hotel is well located, with a FamilyMart and a Donki nearby. The udon and the location are both great.

Getting to the train station and town is easy from here, and the rooms are more like three stars. The onsen and food deserve four. Breakfast was excellent, and the free evening bowl of Yonaki soba was a nice touch. The free ice cream after the onsen and free laundry also made the stay comfortable and convenient.

The room was well laid out with big beds and good shower pressure, and everything was clean. Staff were attentive. Breakfast had excellent Japanese and European options, and the hotel is near the food district. There was free laundry, a rooftop consents spring, free ice cream, and complimentary noodles at 9.30pm. The location was great.

Update from my July 2025 return: there are now two check-in and checkout machines. The room is spacious by Japanese standards, though the AC makes some noise. For the Setouchi Triennale, both bus stops for trips to and from the port are just one minute away. Walking to the port takes 17 minutes along one straight road. The shopping alleys are very close, and there's a convenience store just around the opposite corner. The hot springs and sauna, one bath for women and one for men, are open from 15:00 to 10:00. Tattoos are allowed with a provided patch. This branch's bath is smaller than the Okayama and Izumo ones. Free noodles and ice cream are served from 21:30 to 23:00. Amenities are at reception. There is parking, vending machines, an ice machine, a smoking room, and laundry with free washing and paid drying. In the room: towels, good slippers, pajamas, a fridge, safe, TV, and AC. I especially like the large sink separate from the washroom, plus a stool and tiny low table for eating or writing.
