GLAMPROOK Shimanami

A lovely room, excellent food, and staff who speak English. It's a good base for cycling the Shimanami-Kaidou.

A fantastic glamping stay, and they also have hotel rooms.

The view and staff made a wonderful impression. Cold weather brought rough seas, so we couldn't use the famous treasure boat. The team kindly picked us up and dropped us off in an Alphard, and their welcoming manner stood out even before we arrived. Staying on Umajima, a nearly uninhabited island with just three families and five people, gave me a special chance to do absolutely nothing. From the observation bath, the panoramic view over the Shimanami Kaido and Kurushima Strait was so open and expansive that I wanted to soak there again and again. Each dish was beautifully presented with local ingredients, and evening bar time added to the unusual feel of the stay. There were plenty of ways to enjoy nature too, including taking an elevator up with a view of the Kurushima Strait, exploring caves, and collecting sea glass on the beach. Next time, I'd like to spend even more time in the island's rhythm by glamping!

The soothing sound of the waves and the peaceful atmosphere made the hotel's wonderful view even better. The staff were attentive and made our stay very pleasant. We stayed several nights, and the dinner menu changed each time. Everything was delicious, and you could really feel the chef's dedication (lol). I'd definitely like to come back!
