Organic Guesthouse & Cafe OHANA - Hostel

The hosts were kind and the guesthouse had a cozy, homely feel. It’s a little off the main route, but a worthwhile stop if you’re cycling and need a place to stay. Oyamazumi Shrine is nearby, with its beautiful camphor tree. I only stayed one night and would recommend it.

The place felt warm and welcoming, almost like home. I was lucky enough to be there when they had a live music event. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a taste of authentic local Japanese life.

The hosts were the best part of our stay, so kind and welcoming, and they gave us helpful recommendations for the area. When I lost my bike key, they dropped everything to help, making calls for us and speaking with neighbors. It made a big difference. The room was comfortable, and the nearby onsen was nice. We also loved the okonomiyaki down the street, plus the restaurant’s great atmosphere and lovely shop owner. I’d recommend staying here.

Ohana felt like home, with a genuine vibe, comfortable beds, a big kitchen for cooking, and really clean spaces. The hosts were kind, friendly, and helpful, and shared good local tips, including information about other islands like Kamijima Islands. There’s also an organic shop that’s fun to look around. We hired bikes at Ohana and rode around the authentic village and out to the beach, which is nice for swimming. We loved it so much that we stayed two nights and still found it hard to leave. Highly recommend!
