The onsen made this feel like a real find, especially if you haven’t tried one before. I stopped here on a day trip between parts of my Japan visit and came away feeling refreshed. The staff were incredibly welcoming and flexible despite the language barrier, and it seemed they pay attention to guest reviews. They served each meal course at the pace I wanted. If you can, May is a beautiful time to visit, with cherry trees all around. I’d say this place is well worth a stop if you’re nearby.

We were greeted so warmly, and the hosts communicated with us well even though we don’t speak much Japanese. The room was roomy and comfortable, and the private onsen had lovely views toward the trees, with water at just the right temperature. Meals came beautifully presented, with lots of high quality choices. Such a quiet, restful place.

The in-room private onsen is the main draw, and I had a great stay. The staff were very kind, as expected, and the food was good too. I’m sure I’ll come back next time I’m in Fukushima.
