The host was warm and friendly, the rooms super clean, and the house beautifully decorated. It felt like staying in a hotel at hostel prices. The beach is very close. It’s in a quiet part of the island, with few shops, which is nice if you want to get away from crowds. There’s no convenience store nearby, and many restaurants close early, but the host offered inexpensive food like dried or cup ramen and curries. Five out of five for the homely feel and good vibes.

The guesthouse is great and close to its own beach, though it’s a little farther out from Ishigaki. Shops and restaurants are scarce in the off-season, but I imagine it’s perfect in summer.

The house was beautiful, and the staff were wonderful, sweet, and attentive. They helped us plan activities and speak Japanese. It was also great that we could rent a car through the house for very little. Just keep in mind it only fits four people, not five. We had a lovely stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

It was inexpensive, and you can borrow bicycles for free, though there wasn’t anywhere special to ride to. Our room was beside the bathroom, and we couldn’t sleep until the last person finished showering.
