A private rental accommodation with a glass-walled sauna, COCO VILLA Mt. Omuro

We were there as a family of three with our first-grade son. Even arriving after dark, he was delighted by the unusual layout and spent ages running between the second-floor living room and first-floor bedroom. Dinner was teppanyaki, and it made ordinary ingredients feel like a special meal. My husband and I were both very satisfied. The wooden deck was great for looking at the stars at night, and in the morning we saw magnificent Mount Omuroyama and beautiful Mount Fuji. 🗻 We’d also been looking forward to the sauna and got to use it in the morning. The night before was so cold that the cold bath had frozen, and the wind meant we chilled again soon after leaving the sauna. As a beginner, I didn’t find that part very enjoyable. I’d like to return when Mt. Omuroyama’s greenery is in full bloom.

The living room is on the small side, but cooking on the griddle was fun. The location is handy for the Cactus Park and Mt. Omuro, which is right in front of the building. We could get to the Cactus Park just after opening, before it got crowded.

The sauna at COCOVILLA was the highlight of my trip. After walking around sightseeing, I felt my tired body loosen up almost right away, and I had plenty of energy for sightseeing the next day. I loved the wood scent, the heat from the loyly, and the refreshing cold bath. Getting to feel at one with nature like that, something I can’t experience in the city, was amazing.

The wooden deck has a BBQ and a private sauna, and upstairs there’s a teppanyaki grill. If the weather turns bad, you can still cook teppanyaki indoors. You can buy ingredients around Izu Kogen Station, about a 15-minute drive away. The view of Mount Omuro is fantastic. The Cactus Park is a one-minute walk, and the Mount Omuro lift is a short walk down the slope.
