It's a lovely little place, with a beautiful traditional building and a very authentic feel. The food is local, and the onsen is incredible, with a great view over the snowy trees. It also works well for snowcat skiing at Iwanai resort.

The view over Iwanai bay with winter snow was beautiful. It was peaceful and clean, and since it wasn't crowded when I visited, it felt worth the money. My skin had been so dry that winter, and a soak felt really good.

The staff were very welcoming, and some speak English. The food was good and the Onsen was great. It seems to have once been a luxury ryokan with outstanding woodwork; it's now at a slightly lower level, but still really good for the price.

The water is super hot, and the views are fantastic. The outdoor bath only opens at 3pm, so you can use it only if you're staying overnight.

A beautiful Japanese-style onsen, with amazing views of the surrounding nature from the bathhouse.
