Back again and so happy to be here 😊 It’s comfortable, the staff are accommodating, and the meals are delicious.

A little dated, but still a good place to stay for the price. It was very clean, the location was fantastic, and the food was delicious.

I spent two nights in Toi on my own, in a mountain-view room with breakfast and dinner, and traveled using a regional JR pass. The room was fine for a single, though the breakfast disappointed me. Dinner was OK, with alcohol included. I wouldn’t recommend staying more than one night, especially if you’re traveling solo. There isn’t much to see in town, the gold mine takes only about an hour, and the hotel itself is boring. One night is enough to catch the nice sunset. You have to go farther south to see Mount Fuji, since a hill blocks it from the hotel. The electric bike rental is free, but limited to two hours and the bikes aren’t really for sport, so you can’t have much of an adventure. Buses run once an hour, and the ride back to the train station takes an hour. With so little to do around town or at the hotel, spending extra nights feels like a waste of time.

There’s a nice view, though the gorgeous view of Mt fuji is blocked. The place feels neglected and run-down, with moldy smells throughout. It looks like it was once a grand hotel, but has seen better days. The buffet was OK, and the crab legs seemed especially popular. There were quite a few families and larger groups.

The hotel itself is gorgeous, especially the larger rooms, and the staff were phenomenal. Karaoke, billiards, and the other extras made the stay worth it. The dinner buffet had so much food I felt like I’d eaten for three people. My single room, though, was basically a shoebox, with cobwebs and stained sheets. I’d still give it a solid 4 out of 5 because the food and amenities made up for the room.
