The three private hot springs are clean and have a lovely atmosphere. Soaking while listening to the river flow was blissful, and the water left my skin feeling smooth and my whole body warm. Getting there can be a little confusing, but the trip is worth it. I’ve stayed in all kinds of places, from luxury ryokans and hotels to pensions and budget guesthouse-style ryokans, and each had something missing. This one fits my preferences completely. It’s a quiet pension by the river, with clean rooms and attached bathrooms. The meals have the authentic taste and atmosphere of Japan, with sophisticated, delicious fusion Japanese dishes rather than grand Kaiseki. The owner is kind without being pushy. If you need help or something goes wrong, they sort it out quickly with a smile. I’d recommend it to people who want a quiet, considerate kind of trip.
