Hotel Aston Plaza Kansai Airport

I regretted not paying a little extra for somewhere nicer. It’s around a 20-minute walk from the metro, and the station isn’t on a line from the airport. There’s not much nearby apart from snacks at the 7-11 across the road, and my email asking to book the hotel shuttle never got a reply. The building felt poor quality, and the room was only okay, less appealing than the photos. The bathroom was like an airplane bathroom, and the flush used about 20 times more water than needed. Flushing in nearby rooms kept waking me up. We also missed the sento because, oddly, it was only open from 6 to 8 a.m.

A handy choice for a short stay near the airport. My room was clean and comfortable, and both check-in and checkout went smoothly.

Being close to the airport means you can get there on time in the morning, which is useful. The downside is the walk from the subway: it’s 1.7 km along a small village road that isn’t very easy to walk. In the room, the appliances and facilities seemed old, and cleanliness was average. The pillow didn’t feel like a proper pillow, and the quilt cover was just a sheet separating the quilt, which didn’t look very clean or hygienic.

The hotel was very noisy because it’s next to the main road. I asked for a quiet room, but they ignored the request. They also wouldn’t store my bag, not even for one day, so don’t expect luggage storage.
