REF Kansai Airport by VESSEL HOTELS

I’m glad I found this hotel while transiting to KL. It’s close to the airport and near the station, and the place was really well prepared. There were lots of free things to enjoy: the public bath, comics library, microwave, luggage scale, and free drinks with plenty of options. I tried them all, and the chocolate drink was delicious. The staff weren’t very good at speaking English, but they were helpful and patient. I lost my hotel sandals while using the public bath, maybe someone accidentally used them. I thought I’d be charged, but instead they gave me a new pair. I’d love to try breakfast, but my flight was early.

The hotel is great value and clean. A real bonus is the rooftop hot spring bath, with an outdoor area and sauna. There was also a very enthusiastic person on staff at the breakfast buffet who speaks Chinese. The location has its advantages and drawbacks. It’s extremely close to the station: turn right as soon as you leave the east gate. That’s handy for getting around, though light sleepers may be disturbed by station noise.

I needed somewhere for the night before heading to the airport, and this was perfect for travelling solo. The room was a standard solo room with a standard toilet, and the staff were very nice and helpful. The location was convenient, just two stops from the airport, with a convenience store right below.

The rooms were comfortable, and the train station is a short, convenient walk away. There’s a convenience store and an izakaya nearby.
