Both families stayed here for our wedding at Kitajima-san and had dinner after the ceremony. Beforehand, we came to see the rooms and talk through the meal, and the president welcomed us with such a homely manner that we decided to stay. On the wedding day, he drove the bus to and from Kitajima-san and arranged the kagami biraki ceremony we’d requested. The food was delicious, and the waitresses who prepared the room and served us were lovely. Our room was newly renovated, apparently around summer 2025, and was very clean. The large public bath was spacious as well. We had a lot to worry about for our once-in-a-lifetime wedding, and we’re so glad we were looked after here. We’ll come back with our family.

I stayed one night, and the staff were genuinely helpful. When I asked about izakayas nearby, they marked some on a map for me. The exterior and facilities have a charming retro feel, while the rooms have been renovated and were very clean. It’s also close to Izumo Taisha Shrine, so I’d recommend staying here.

I ended up here on Christmas Eve, and it turned out I had the whole place to myself. I was lucky, since it was apparently only available that way for a limited time. The inn is a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and I loved its old-fashioned atmosphere. The restrooms and other facilities were clean, and the courtyard was lovely. The lights and TV felt nostalgic. I liked the firm pillows and slept well, and the bath water was great. The staff were kind, too. The bus stop is close, and it was a nice spot for a morning walk as long as it wasn’t raining.

The warm smiles at the entrance and the thoughtful hospitality throughout my visit made a lovely first impression. The building has a charming exterior that really feels worthy of its tangible cultural property status. If you’d like to experience a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, you should visit.

We stayed with our three children while visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine, and it was a very comfortable stay. The location is excellent, less than a five-minute walk from the shrine, so you can go early in the morning. The historic hallways and front desk have lots of Japanese character, and the inn is steeped in history as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. The front desk staff were considerate and kind, and gave us useful advice about nearby sights. They even provided yukata robes for our elementary school-aged children, which we appreciated. There was dedicated Wi-Fi, so the kids could use their phones comfortably and were happy. The rooms were clean, and the air conditioning worked well. Thank you very much.
