Nishiki Guest House

My friend and I spent a night in Osaka at Nishiki House, and the warmth of the landlady and her son made it feel like home as soon as we arrived. Their hospitality was amazing, and the owners lived up to Osaka residents’ reputation for being friendly and welcoming. We had connecting rooms that were surprisingly spacious, comfortable, and had great wifi. Lalaport mall was nearby, as were Kadoma Station and other restaurants. We loved the okonomiyaki at the place called “Chiho,” and had breakfast at a new cafe near the station. Great value and such warm service. I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in Osaka, and highly recommend it!

I was touring when I stayed here, and being able to stay under a roof while it rained was a real relief. The front desk staff were very kind. There’s a washing machine and dryer, plus a microwave, tea, cups, and other things on each floor. My room was clean and had an extension cord, an empty refrigerator, and an electric kettle. There isn’t a separate bathroom, so I had to wash my hands in the toilet. It’s a shame the bath is only available until 11pm.

The free parking was really convenient, and Nishikiso was close to Kadoma City Station. The building and rooms are a little old, but everything was clean and the staff were helpful. The walls are somewhat thin, so I tried to keep my noise down. For the price, I can live with a bit of noise. I stayed two nights and was surprised to find the room had been cleaned when I got back. I’d assumed cleaning was a given at that price, but I was very impressed. It was a little hard to get through by phone, but I’m glad I stayed here on my way to the Expo.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the friendly landlady helped me feel at ease. It’s a little far from Kadoma-shi Station, but good value for money. Everything seemed acceptable for the low price. I booked a room with a private bath. It was small and square, like baths in Showa-era homes, and the water pressure was low. Setting the hot water to maximum and adding cold water made it feel nice. There was one small towel, but no bath towels, toothbrush, or loungewear. At first glance the toilet looks Western-style, but it’s an old-fashioned one with a Western-style chair set on it. Sitting down as you would on a Western-style toilet meant my knees hit the door. The private-shower rooms come in Japanese-style and Western-style. The Western-style rooms also have an attached toilet.
