The room's private outdoor onsen was lovely, but the public bath felt very dated. The walls were cracking and the floor was wet everywhere, so it wasn't impressive. We paid a lot for one night with dinner and breakfast, and the service left us disappointed. At check-in we booked an onsen slot for 8:00, but after dinner we found out it was for the morning. Nobody had explained that, and the booking slip didn't say whether it meant AM or PM. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 breakfast the next day, but there was no staff member in the dining room. The woman serving breakfast was professional and kind, though.

Coming from Australia to Japan, I was blown away by the atmosphere and the way the staff treated us. This has honestly been the coolest hotel experience I've ever had.

I'd stay here again next time I'm in Kaga. The rooms are traditional Japanese style, there's a public bath, and both dinner and breakfast offer delicious Japanese food.

The hot spring was lovely, and the staff were sweet and helpful. It was the most relaxing day of my trip.
