Hotel Alpha

The price was reasonable, and the place has been remodeled recently. It's very close to the station and a convenience store.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and it was clean enough that staying there was no problem. The room Wi-Fi was reasonably fast. Still, the building is old, probably because it's wooden, and the floors creak a little as you walk. I also found it disappointing that there was no brush and the shampoo was the combined shampoo and conditioner kind. A draft seems to get into the room from somewhere, so the heating wasn't very effective. This is the closest hotel to Kagaonsen Station.

The building is old, but they were willing to accommodate an unexpectedly long stay for my family member after an emergency, and I really appreciated that. It's close to Kaga City Medical Center, the train station, a Lawson convenience store and two Times car-sharing cars. There are hot springs nearby, so those would be a good option for bathing.

I won't stay here again. I was in town for work, and the room-only rate was about average, but the front desk service was awful. I'd requested credit card payment when booking, but at check-in they said the card machine was broken and I couldn't use it. I asked whether bank transfer was possible since I would hand over my business card, but the answer was vague. Luckily, I had cash, so I managed to pay. The next day I finished work early and asked how to arrange flowers for the Great Buddha visible from the hotel. The older man at reception, who'd taken my card payment the day before, said he didn't know. It made me wonder what the point of having someone at the desk is if they can't answer questions about the local area.
