I had a lovely dinner with the owner and his friends, and the food was delicious. I stayed one night in September 2025 while cycling around Shikoku. I’d go back if I get the chance.

I was there for a week and would definitely recommend it. Mayu is a great cook, and dinner was some of the best food I’ve had in Japan. Hiro can help with all your surfing needs. I’ll be back for sure!

The guesthouse looks ramshackle from the outside, but inside it’s really comfortable. I stayed one night in early June this year, and the family running it were warm and welcoming. Their children are adorable too. Do yourself a favor and have both dinner and breakfast, the meals are delicious.

This is a humble hostel style place between the seawall and the road, with simple rooms. If you want somewhere to sleep and get a warm, local feeling from a family stay, it’s a great fit. The hosts were incredibly loving and welcoming, and we enjoyed the simple life there. Breakfast each morning was just right, with eggs, homemade bread, fruit, and more. We also had a couple of special dinners. Just ask, and Hiro might make you homemade sushi. Don’t forget the whiskey. Surfboards and wetsuits were easy to rent onsite, and they gave us tips on which breaks suited the daily conditions. There are temples, waterfalls, and some good local places to eat nearby.
