The lounge on the first floor was a nice touch, with water, tea, and snacks available for guests to help themselves. The rooms and bathrooms have the feel of an ordinary home, but everything was clean and comfortable. It's a family-run inn with a homey atmosphere. I was uneasy about leaving our room keys near the entrance when we went out. Staff were often away, so someone could have taken them easily. I'd avoid leaving valuables in the room while you're out. WiFi is free, in case that matters to you.

There are drinks and snacks in the first-floor common area, and the shared bath has three showers and one tub. The owner took time to explain things kindly, and the reception was good. The room matched the photos and even had a closet. It's a three-story inn about a 10-minute walk from Kakegawa Station. There's also a bathroom on the third floor, though it feels more like one at home. Amenities are provided, so that wasn't an issue. I visited in early May 2025.

Kakegawa Castle is about a seven-minute walk away, and you can see it from the rooftop too. The large communal bath is on the small side, with space for just three people at the washing area, though I had it to myself when I stayed. I booked without meals. The room suited me, had a TV, and was free of charge. There was no toilet in the room. Good value for the price.

The bath being open around the clock was a real plus. Dinner was a generous, comforting home-style meal, and the reception staff were very helpful. The place has a warm, homelike feel.

The shared bath fits about three people and stays open 24 hours, so there was time to stretch out and unwind. The building has been renovated with a modern look. It doesn't have the feel of a traditional inn.
